I woke up this morning saddend by the death of Lena Horne. Though I am 23 yrs of age, I know of Lena Horne. Any woman should know Lena Horne. She is the true definition of a lady. Not only was she a singer, dancer and actress, she was also an activist for civil rights. 

I remember seeing her along side Michael Jackson and Diana Ross in the Motion Picture “The Wiz”, as Glinda the Good Witch. I was just a kid then, just thinking to myself how beautiful she was and how her voice was soothing and pure.  Can you believe she was 61 at the time? I couldn’t. For those of you who don’t know of Lena Horne, I encourage you to look her up, read about her and listen to her music. She was a very influential person in the music and movie industry and she will be truly missed. Check out the tribute video below and some photos of Lena Horne below the cut.
