BIO

J.Lawrence Byas was born into a musical family following a long list of highly revered singers he was cultivated in a barrage of music and sound early…. There are accounts of him singing his first solo at the age of two,didn’t miss a note!

All the music teachers and band leaders poured their knowledge into him throughout the years,knowing it would make him a complete artist, a classically trained singer,  brass player,a composer, a lover of the arts…. in other words a “musical monster”, a mogul in training.

Interning as an Engineer while finishing High School in the late 90′s Duke worked himself up in the ranks of NUTTHOUSE Records soon becoming the Head Engineer and  Producer in the camp years later. Working  in various studios with a host of artist’s in Tulsa,OK and surrounding area’s gave him more freedom to influence multiple camps. He got a feel for all genres and eventually started his own production company Utmost Entertainment Productions in 2003, a sound lab where he would put his own spin on music and other artist can go, to try new and different ways of approaching a track. He has consulted on many projects around the country, and is touted as one of the best to “do it” in this era amongst his peers and has emerged as a premier and heavily sought out artist.

Currently settled in OKC for now, He’s developing other artists in the region and stockpiling a vast catalog of Hip-Hop,R&B and Soul Music to pipeline for years to come… while patiently working on his masterpiece entitled “Soul of a Man”
